Pat may not have had any special affinity for The Beatles, but I think he really liked John Lennon. He pointed out to me once the very popular 'Imagine' (despite its heavy anti-dittohead messages), as it resides on the same album as 'Happy Xmas', for which his enjoyment was no secret.

I'm not sure what it was that drew him to this song, but there isn't much not to like. While it might lean towards the paganistic (not at all a bad thing, especially from Pat's perspective), the message is clear: peace.
